First of all, I apologize for not supplying the information about the shot before... Although there are very big industry sites using latest technology in Turkey, this shot was taken in an old iron casting workshop at an old industry site in Ankara. I was just passing by the site with my camera, when i saw the place. The place and the lights draw my attention, i stopped and decided to shot this place. Weather was 35 centigrade, melting point of iron is around 1000 - 1300 centigradeC, it was a very tough place for working with old technology. The old man was the owner of the workshop and holding the controller of the pouring apparatus of the molten iron into the small pots. Molten iron is then carried with these small pots through a closed room, where it is poured into moulds and left for cooling. I could shot only a few photos at that suffocating hot weather before i exhausted and broke out into a sweat... Shot was taken in 30th May, 2004.
